One unit of alcohol is the same as any of the following:

One small glass of wine (100ml)

One measure of sherry (50ml)

One tot of spirit (25ml)

Half a pint of normal strength beer (300ml)

Bear in mind that measures poured at home will probably be greater than those served in pubs etc.
